Blackhawk CQC Serpa For Para-Ordnance

I own three other Blackhawk holsters and they are great. My fourth one for my Para isn't so great. If you're interested in the CQC Serpa for your Para-Ordnance I wouldn't suggest it. I bought 2, one for me and another for my nephew and neither one functioned properly out of the box. The reason being is that the para's thick mag well comes into contact with the upper portion of the holster prohibiting it from seating properly. If you jam the pistol down into the holster it will seat, but in order to disengage the retention device you have to FORCEFULLY push the pistol downward while depressing the release, then drawing it out. It is the small lips on the upper portion of the holster that extend just enough to come into contact with the thick part of the pistol frame to cause this problem. I used a Dremel tool to take this area off the holster only to identify another problem. The Para's slide is thicker (just enough) than other 1911 models to cause a significant amount of drag. I also used the Dremel to hollow it out. I have finally got the pistol to fit in, but wouldn't use it if you're using it for timed draws.
Bottom line, I'm unfortunately looking for another holster.
