Colt .45 Defender is a wonderful carry piece. The short 4 barrel fits perfectly into a Galco holster and conceals easily. The safety features on the weapon are well thought. The addition of a grip safety is a great innovation. And the beaver tail keeps the users thumb safely under the slide, while firing. Sights are good and can be fired with soft hands even with some moderate barrel rise and kick after firing. Mechanically, the gun operates with precision and smoothly.
Fires everytime and fires with stopping power. Targets are impacted with great force. While Kimber and others make excellent .45''s, the Colt Defender is an excellent choice for the price. It''s a quality piece and It''s a great everyday carry piece. The .45 defender ]1911[ is as close to a perect design as I think we are going to get with a pistol. 100 years and still a masterpiece !
